General Information
The city of the Dwarfs is one of the oldest in Maia. It, like most Dwarfs camps, respects nature as something to be worshipped and fearer. Its buildings are as much apart of nature as the Dwarfs souls and as such, are constructed either around trees and hills, or atop them. Making full use of rural landscape, the city itself is built on the edge of a forest but amid flat ground. Because of this, a rather densely constructed city was able to be built without harming the surrounding foliage in any way, save a few uprooted bushes which were simply moved further south.
The city was constructed with stones gathered from the nearby mountains and laid in blocks, cemented together and adorned with large (usually circular) windows. From without, it has the look of a palace of epic proportions. From within, however, you discover that there are two levels to the city; the Courtyard, which is entwined and built around the ancient trees which firstly acts as a mercantile square, as well as the slums for the less favoured Dwarfs peoples. Then there is the main building itself, which is shaped like a palace but is referred to as "The Citadel" and is another city all by itself, all be it a city for nobles and more "enlightened" individuals.
